Use it for your pure maple syrup or liquid coffee creamer.   It is made from a dark stoneware clay rich in iron which gives it it's deep chocolate color.  It is food, dishwasher, and microwave friendly, but as with any one of a kind handmade item hand washing might help preserve it's original beauty.
